Addressing Thousands in France, His Holiness Speaks on Ethics

Dharamshala:  His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama gave a public talk Monday, August 15, in Toulouse, France.  According to Tibet.net, His Holiness spoke to an audience of over ten thousand about the importance of ethics.

This year, 2008, marks the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948–2008). This declaration affirms that all human beings have the right to freedom from want and freedom from fear. These human rights are inclusive, interdependent and universal.

Dharamshala: - The spiritual leader of Tibet, His Holiness,the 14th Dalai Lama on Sunday, 4, September, left Dharamshala, his Himalayan hometown in Northern India, for visit to Montreal, Canada where he is set to open the Second Global Conference on World's Religions After 9/11 at The Palais des congres de Montreal.

October 14, 2001: Madame Speaker, Honourable Members of the Parliament, ladies and gentlemen.
It is a great honour for me to address the European Parliament.  I believe the European Union is an inspiring example for a cooperative and peaceful co-existence among different nations and peoples and deeply inspiring for people like myself who strongly believe in the need for better understanding, closer cooperation, and greater respect among the various nations of the world.
